Prospect Lefferts Gardens Residence was built for a family of four who are avid bicyclists, chefs and gardeners. Design of the garden combined the functionality of everyday life with aspirational streamlined detailing.

As we see major storm events become more commonplace, it is necessary for our own backyards to be able to manage stormwater. The project replaced severely compacted soils with a gravel substrate and permeable pavers to allow water to percolate into the soil and the surrounding planting. The compacted soil was relocated to a woodland planter to give the backyard a feeling of enclosure.
